NOTICE TO CLIENTS
The Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council investigates and prosecutes professional misconduct committed by marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, psychologists, psychological associates, social workers, and licensed specialists in school psychology. Although not every complaint against or dispute with a licensee involves professional misconduct, the Executive Council will provide you with information about how to file a complaint. Please call 1-800-821-3205 or visit the Council's website for more information.
You may also file a consumer complaint with the Office of the Attorney General's Consumer Protection page.
REQUESTING YOUR RECORDS
You have the right to request your mental health records. To obtain a copy of your records, submit a written request to your counselor via email. Your provider has 15 days to respond to your written request.
